Motorola Xoom Tablet Can Now Display Esaote's Ultrasounds!!
Italian diagnostic imaging firm Esaote is touting that its MyLab line of ultrasound devices is now capable of sharing images with a Motorola Xoom tablet, allowing physicians to review exams with colleagues and away from the patient. Though probably not restricted to Xoom only, the Esaote solution is an early salvo against iPad's remarkable sweeping acceptance among clinicians.
A company rep has provided us with the following info:
With the latest generation systems Esaote MyLab it is now possible to perform ultrasound examinations and send the clinical image to a “tablet” as the Motorola Xoom that, equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor and 10.1-inch (25.65 cm) widescreen HD display, allows high definition views of clinical images, clips and reports.
The Esaote MyLab Family ultrasound scanners are innovative diagnostic systems able to provide top level performances, including touch-screen and built-in wireless access for fast and easy data transfer to PCs, tablets and smartphones through a simple networking.
The possibility to send the ultrasound examination to a thin and light tablet, easy to use but powerful and equipped with an HD screen like the one featured by Motorola Xoom, allows the clinician to get access to clinical information wherever he is located and to view them even away from his workplace.
