Verity Extremity Cone Beam CT Scanner

Planmed (Helsinki, Finland) has received FDA clearance for its Verity extremity cone beam CT scanner. The Verity acquires high resolution volumetric (3D) images of the extremities at low radiation dose. It performs volumetric imaging with multi-planar reconstruction and volume rendering, providing optimal visualization of fractures and deformations. Standard image resolution is 0.2mm isotropic, and an optional high resolution mode boosts that to 0.1mm.

Radiation dose is up to ten times lower compared to extremity imaging protocols with conventional CT. The scanner is mobile and has an adjustable, soft surfaced gantry and dedicated patient positioning trays. It can image seated, supine and standing patients. The Verity previously received CE mark just over one year ago.
